The American #Cadet Alliance, founded in 1909, used to have Army, Marine and Navy cadets in the program. Marine and Navy cadets went away in the 80s/90s and it developed into what is now, #MilitaryCadets, an Army-based (but no affiliation) program.

There are many cadet programs other than #JROTC, but, to my understanding, according to a law passed by Congress in 1930, cadet programs are prohibited from using the terms, “#Army,” “#Marines,” “#Navy,” and #”AirForce”. I don’t know about #CoastGuard. Do, that’s why we have #SeaCadets, #YoungMarines (hmmm) and #CivilAirPatrol
